So What is Application Performance Testing – Performance Testing is the process of validating Application Performance, Reliability and Scalability for a defined set of Non Functional Requirements. Performance Testing tools have been largely dominated by commercial solutions and generally tend to have a very clear focus i.e. the tool could be either focused on Application Performance Testing or Infrastructure Performance Testing with a clear view of the platforms or protocols they would support. A handful of the industry standard Performance Testing tools have extensive support for a very large number of different application protocols while the rest of the tools have limited support and are largely focused on web based applications.
